On my Solex carb the one vacuum connection came out when I pulled the hose off. Anybody ever fixed it with success?

When I take a look on the drawings, the vacuum tube can be fixed with glue. But first off al it should be clean without grease or oil. Then use special glue like "LocTite 495" {Cyanoacrylaat}. Loctite is from Europe, but it is the glue, that when it is on your fingers after 5sec you can`t release them.

Thxs Toine

Here we have this glue called "SUPER GLUE".
The description says that same difficult name you mention. Will try it and let you know.

Kobus I don't think Super Glue would work well. The reason being it is not very thick, and I don't know how well it would stand up to moderate heat and oil/gas from the carb. I would suggest going to an automotive parts store and seeing what kind of glue they had that resisted chemicals and could stand moderate heat.

yeah i would stay away from super glue... it probably prduces some deadly gas when exposed to heat

It is the vacuum and not the petrolinlet. There is not damp or vapor coming from this glue (after 24h of drying). The temperature of the carb is to low to have any efects of the glue strenght.

I forgot to say that I always use this glue for fixing the accelerator discharge tube.
