Engine and chassis codes

Where would the engine and chassis codes be located on a 1967 bug? The actual body is a 67 but the engine is a 1641. Which would make the engine at least a 1970's engine unless it had a rebuild with a different crank and over bore. Any help would be great.
Another thing, where do the seat belts attach to on the front and back seats? I can't figure it out!!

VW never made a 1641 in any beetle. It is just a 1600 (1584)cc engine w/ bigger jugs (87mm vs 85.5 mm)

It is a 1641. It is not the original engine. It was rebuilt and tweaked by the guy who had it before me.

uglybug, if you are still looking for the chassis number, lift up the back seat and in the center there should be a plate that has the chassis number. You can also find it in the front spare tire well.

The engine code is stamped below the generator pedestal under the "ZUNDFOLGE" (firing order)

The chassis number is stamped on the tunnel frame under the rear seat.

Yeah, I found all the numbers I needed. the engine has been tweaked. i just said it wrong before. Sorry dudes.
