Hi,
I've been told to replace this pipe I've got the replacement but I'll be dipped if I can find it - is it under rear tin housing to the air cleaner ? is it a major operation? It's a little cold and snowy here in Boston. all hints and info would really help. -Thanks Ken

Open the engine hood. You should see a hose coming from the bottom of the tin right next to the pully. The hose should connect to the oil bath air cleaner. Now look under the engine compartment and you should see the other end of the hole where that hose is connected. The pipe simply has one end (short end) going up into the hose fitting and the other end ( longer side) is aimed at the area just below the cylinders. The idea is that hot air blowing off the cylinders is sucked into the warm air pipe and is drawn into the air cleaner, warming the fuel as it goes into the carb. You won't stall at all, never again,if you hook it up. Use hose clamps to connect all hoses to metal pipes. good luck!

Justasurfa - GREAT ! I'll try it tomorrow,I can't believe I couldn't find any info in the idiot's guide or the Bently manual ( 1969 Bus ). I'll sing your praises if I'm successful....if not I'll bug everyone again.....Thanks again, I'm a happy camper (pun intended)......Ken
