hello guys,
for a T2B
is it possible to redrill the hubs and drums from 5 * 112 to porsche pattern?
i can live with adapters in the front, but i want to use big rear tyres : 215/65,
so no space for adaptors.
And if not,
did 944s come with drums in the back? maybe i can use the 944 hubs and brakes?
thanks !

Many Porsche rims have a lot of backspace and require spacers - with the right rims you'd probably have room for adapters.
Drum-brake 924s use a 9.114" drum (same as Beetle) but have an odd 4-lug pattern. Only the disc-brake 9X4s have 5x130.

I don't think there's enough meat there at 130mm - I'll have to ask my son if he's got a spare hub laying around to look at.

I found this thread at thesamba:

...apparently you only need to weld up the notches in the hubs (they're steel, so this is feasible) to have enough material past the 5x130 stud locations.

If you carefully position the holes no welding is needed. I have done many sets.

The rear Bus hubs can be done.... Without welding as has been stated.... The fronts rotors however, can not be redrilled.... I have seen it done, but the method is not safe or good practice.... The actual hub part of the rotor it only 10mm (approx) greater in diameter than the 130PCD... Your PCD will intersect with the hub wall and weaken the rotor.... Either run adapters on the front or do it the right way.... Fit 944 hubs and rotors or get an aftermarket kit that will achieve what you want.... I went the 944 route on the front of my Bay (with a 67 LP beam and drop spindles) and redrilled late drums and hubs on the rear....
