My new brake upgrade!!
Old setup was CB's standard disk brake kit that I had crossed drilled and coated. Stopped great with my 18" rims, but my speed and power needs have gotten much greater in resent years and I was wanting to upgrade my brakes with something cool yet different.
Old setup....
Machined hub
Old rotor on top of new rotor, std 2005 911 rotor
New caliper, C6 Z06 6-piston
Wheel mounted back up
Its not completed yet, just wanting to show what Ive been doing progress wise. Hope it helps out others as well.

Re: My new brake upgrade!!
Very Slick, what did you do for the caliper mount?
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: My new brake upgrade!!
What im doing is making a plate the bolt pattern of the spindle and a plate the pattern of the caliper. Then fix the caliper in the proper location and tack a plate between them. Then ill clean it all up and fully weld it off the car. I'll post pics of it, very simple but the pics may help others.

I have some 996 rears and $75 LS430 front calipers I want to try (and 996 discs) to mount on the Pile when I get back to it.
(I actually don't like the front struts I picked up, rust pitting to the point of worrying about structural integrity-be careful of parts purchases from PA)
The `vette parts are probably easier to mount.

Re: My new brake upgrade!!
I'm guess you just put the calipers on top to demo, but make sure you've got a top and a bottom when you actually mount them or bleeding may be a pain in the a$$!

What kind of mc are you using? If stock beetle I would interested in knowing what kind of pedal travel and feel. I've got at set of front Porsche 996 rotors & calipers I'm going to install.

I believe it a 914-6 mc, although I am not sure what 914 it came from. 55superbeetle got it for me and it worked perfect for my CB 4 wheel disks. I'll have to ask him to find out.

Great, was it bolt on? Also if you could find out if the 914-6 mc is the same as some early 911 mc that I have heard others use.capsoval wrote:I believe it a 914-6 mc, although I am not sure what 914 it came from. 55superbeetle got it for me and it worked perfect for my CB 4 wheel disks. 914 mc is 17mm bore.
914-6 mc is a 19mm bore.
Early 911 mc are the same as 914-6 mc.
It turns out the one I'm using is a 914-6 mc.
