Fuel Splash

Post by Bug-a-natic »

Do you guys have any instance of fuel splashing out of your tank when it is full during deep cornering? I'm having that issue. I pulled the firewall panel and checked the filler hose and it seems fine. I put a turn on the hoseclamp so at the next fillup I will see

Are you seeing the fuel running out somewhere or are you just smelling it?

There are several rubber hose connections in the vent lines for the tank that get rotten with age and need to be replaced. Some are pretty well hidden. There are also two boots on the full filler pipe that go bad over time. The one right at the fill cap is worse as it is all rubber and has no reinforcing cords. Does you cap fit tight?
