1972 VW Baja Bug -SOLD
... don't really want too... but... gotta
heres the build on STF.. http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic ... zertdiablo
1972 VW Baja Bug.
Engine:
1915 Dual port engine, built last year only has about 300 miles on it. Has Engle 110 cam, full flowed, dual Weber idf40 carbs, alternator, Bosch 009 dist, K&N Oil filter, large oil cooler with fan, AN fittings with steel braided hoses. Baja quiet style exhaust.
Suspension: Stock suspension that has been cut and turned in the front with KYB shocks, newer disc front brakes, and new tie rods. Rear has been re-indexed, boxed in rear arms, with internally by-passed shocks.
Wheels and Tires: Steel wheels with Nanco 15” x 7” fronts, Goodyear 30” MTR mud tires in the rear, and a spare 15” x 7” under the hood on a stock wheel.
Body: High rise rear fiberglass fenders, 1 piece fiberglass front end. Body has some rust, but what bug doesn’t? Has steel bumpers front and rear, steel skid plate for the rear, front lower beam bars, new windshield, H4 conversion headlamps, and LED tail and dust lamps.
Interior: PRP bucket seats on sliders, with Crow Racing Harnesses, GT Grant steering wheel, EMPI shifter, CB Performance Turbo gas pedal, VDO gauges (tach, speedo, fuel, volts, oil press, and oil temp), sealed switches, Alpine stereo with 6x9 speakers. Has been carpeted, door panels, rear panels, a fiberglass seat in the back, good for dogs. Full roll cage that has been tied into the rear bumper and body. Optima red top battery and new wiring.
Car runs great, does awesome in the desert. Smooth suspension for being stock. Great power too. Street legal, with CA plates (just been registered). Has a bunch of extras, spares, and other stuff. Took it the desert all last year and never gave me a problem. Sad to see her go, spent many late nights building her… but my loss your gain.

If you gotda ask you can't afford it.Hedrock wrote:Price?
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Oh yeah price... haha...
I was thinking about $5000 obo... I am even entertaining trades with cash. Looking for a street vw, from rough to ok condition, running or not. I am looking at getting at least 3500 in cash... I just got it tuned and the thing runs awesome now...
Copper... well we sold our trailer and looking at buying a new toy hauler, and to get what we want and it to fit the bikes and bug, we would be bigger and more expensive than what we want. 13 feet bumper to bumper is a tough fit in most bumper pull trailers, with a front sleeper. and we don't want to go over 26'. And now with the Heep... no real need for the bug anymore =(

Re: 1972 VW Baja Bug
Planning a trip next weekend, if you want to bring the Jeep. Possibly north of Encinitas?...I'm not sure. We're supposed to talk about it more this weekend.
If you're interested, call me and I will get details.
