Not sure, I went with bus trailing arms (Bus Boys kit) on my '66 and the Mercedes CLK rims I have just barely clear the rear aprons. The 944 arms are wider than a bug from what I understand. You may need to measure from the face of the rotor to the inside of the rear apron to make sure the rims/tires will clear. My guess is whatever rims they are will have a lot of positive offset.
Your asumption is correct, much much wider then Beetlearms.
I found out that it is possible to drive with Beetlearms up to 9" (!) width, do not know the ET value of these rims.
I had this question up on a Dutch forum also and i was told that this person got up to 5,5" width but he had the inward facing lips on his fenders, as mine are outward i expect to get up to 6" width.
What do you mean with possitive offset?
The alloy 944 arms stick out ~50mm more than the earlier steel ones.
(the steel ones are std IRS bug arms dimensionally, some say they are reinforced inside)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

So steel Porsche 944 arms equal irs bug arms
Thanks for that info
Thanks volksbugly for the link, gonna do some reading this weekend.
Even though the arms of a Bug and the P944 are the same dimensions the width of the P944 arm is smaller with the original disk setup that i want to keep, so 6" width is the max.
