Hi Don,
yes! Thorsten finished the build of the engine some days ago and did the first test drives last weekend. There are still some adjustments to do with the EFI but he reported that the engine already has lots of torque and power.
I will keep you updated as soon as there are some kilometers on the engine.

Hi Tobi,
There are two major missing parts in my Oxyboxer project:
The heads.
I saw the sample in Herford in January. Good piece of engineering!
Really keen to see them running...
Cheers
Frank

Hi,
Thorsten just called me. The engine isn´t tuned perfectly yet but already pulls stronger than the 2.4L oxyboxer he had before. I asked him about the head temps and he says that so far it´s around 40°C lower than with the Sauer heads he had on his previous engine. So that sounds promising.
@Frank: maybe there will be some more heads made in the future if the heads prove to be reliable. if you come to Hannover next week just ask Thorsten about it. He will be there with his car.

Hi Mark,
indeed there are some news about these heads! Thorsten's 2.7L (86x100mm) engine was used last season with success. At first it had some minor problems with knocking so the chambers got modified and all is okay now.
It made around 215rwhp (I can´t remember the exact number) while being 100% street worthy. The heads are cooling very good, even on high speed autobahn trips.
A second batch of heads have just been finished so there will be a few oxyboxers built for the upcoming season.
The heads have been tested on a flow bench. The exhaust port proved to be very effective while the inlet port and 46mm inlet valve seems to be a little restrictive and could obviously be improved with a bigger valve and some porting.
The price for a pair of bare heads (no valves, seats and valve guides), black anodized will be around 1.800 Euros.
