problems with an '83 Vanagon

What trouble spots should I look for on an '83 camper Van. I might be geeting one in the next coulpe of days. I don't know much about the water cooled engines, are there any chronic problems I should look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick with 80 to 82 air cooled vans, head gaskets tend to go on the those eng's, and are expensive and a hassle to fix when they come in for repairs.
