I run nylube outer bushes to take the end thrust and glacier bearings to support the arm loads in place of the needle rollers - off road use so the needles don't last with the shock loads.

Original end seals get replaced by these:

This provides a metal to metal bearing surface. I see they're now offering these with a roller thrust bearing - sweeet!

Yeah, I run those in nylube as the roller bearings are hard to seal for off road use (the ones on the rods are easy as you can cap the tube), and ours are top hat style so they act as the outer bearing too.

ok maybe i'm having a gerital moment but how do make the trailing arm stay in the beam with the through rods? do you just slide the spring leafs out and install the thru rods with the small ends and just tighten the set screws and that is suppose to hold it all together?

Isn't there some kind of bolt or threaded hole in the ends of the through-rod? The one's I've seen (admitrtedly in pictures only) simply bolted into the "ends" of the trailing arms - through the round cover plate that normally seals up the spring packs from the outside. Maybe posting detailed pictures might eliminate some of the confusion?
Now the Red 9 style rods appear to be a little different. As near as I can tell they have an integral rotating section at each end which attaches to the t-arms with the normal grub screws.

Hmm, I don't have any pictures of ours yet, I'll get some later, but as I made the front arms I just welded a steel plug in there for the bearings/nuts to bear on.

It's just a long rod threaded at each end that takes the place of the springs. Mine uses teflon washers and pinch nuts like these.

sorry been a way for awhile. but that is the best pic I have seen. I did not know that I had to drill a hole in the end of the trailing arm and let the rod stick through and use the lock nut to hold it all together.

I lightened the picture up a bit.
Rick, those covers on the ends of the spindles pop off when you don't want them to so it is an easy conversion.
