Hi I been I VW since 80's .... I owned and Beetle , Buggy and 1964 KG.
I hibernated from VW world for more than 20 years. The only jewel that was left sitting in my garage is my 1964 KG coupe.
I use to receive printed newsletter of the tips and updates before ...
But , Since I was out of the touch now.
I would like to inquire some information regarding suppliers in relation to my revive first love of VW. " VW NEVER DIES ".
I starting slowly to to restore my type I 1964 KG coupe. I would like to replace it's original crack " front " windshield. I'm a bit confuse which is the correct size for my Ghia. As far I can remember their are two sizes in terms of with. One 18 1/2 inches and 18 inches. Correct me if I'm wrong ...
Can anybody direct me to latest info on the supplier and the correct size ?
My chassis number is 6132182
Thank you very much

Are you using the stock "c trim" molding? If so you will need to taller early glass and don't even bother trying the cheap extruded seal, only use the german blocked type.
You need to update your location in your user profile, but expect a significant box charge if you mail order.

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

Thanks for the help Sideshow. Is it tempered glass ? The crack front windshield is currently installed with all black cal look rubber. I don't intend to use the C trim molding because I lost those parts ... Again Thankssideshow wrote:Are you using the stock "c trim" molding? The body's windshield hole does not change year to year, and as far as I can tell the cal-look seals don't care which glass one uses.
