1972 Beetle

Post by volksnut »

Well I bought another project and it's time to let this one go. I built it back in 2003 so it's an older build but still in great shape and runs great. A car is a sum of it's parts so here goes.

It's a standard Beetle, dechromed with shaved turn signals. All new WCM rubber and seals, new floor pans, front apron and tire well. The car has a 2" narrowed beam and has Sway a Way adjusters. New drum brakes with German master cylinder.

Interior has a WCM dash pad, full instuments (some vintage Westach) cool glove box door with gauges, Autometer tachometer, CB steering wheel with Flat 4 hub, Berg 5 speed shifter, Scat seats and rear cover, Pioneer FM/8 Track Supertuner deck, new carpet, door panels ect.

Motor is a 2176 (94X78.4) Turbocharged, aluminum high roof case, 40 Dellorto carbs, Scat match ported intakes, CB header, hats etc. Ko4 turbo, factory wastegate (9 psi) Crane 120 cam, Bugpack straight cut gears, Scat Super D heads, Scat 1.25 rockers, Berg pushrods, lightened flywheel, Kennedy stage 1 PP/rigid disc, Ford EDIS/Megajolt ignition, Turbosmart BOV, CB fuel pump

Trans is a late model single side case, Berg 5 speed conversion, 1.48 3rd gear, 1.04 forth gear, 4.12 R&P, Superbeetle mainshaft, H/D side cover, Berg mid mount, Bus CV's and Sway a Way axles, all new SACO yellow bushings. KYB shocks

Wheels are Bogart Light weight aluminum units, powder coated black, 5.5 fronts, 6.0 rear, M&H Racemaster DOT's rear (215/65-15) Conti 175/65-15 front tires

Car looks good and is ready to rock, it has run 12.80 @ 105 with street tires and muffler @ 9 psi boost. volksnut@cfl.rr.com
