Is the cooling intake hooked up? You know, the big rubber boot from the rear apron to the back (back is back) of the engine where the fan intake is. You might be overheating it...

If you can see the fan, that is bad. Stop driving the car. Get the cooling ductwork in place.

This might be a bit obvious, but check that your timing is set correctly. The carb set up will be different from the FI.

Could be running very lean. giving the heat and the missfire?

Tjek your fuel lines !!!
They may be to small in diameter !

Or may be dirt in the lines + clogged fuel filter in the tank.

Lean mixture and the engine runs hot !

Hello, with as little fuel as the carbs use, and the fact that they have bowls to feed from...the chances of having too small a line if the line is stock....is about nil. Check for poor accel. pump operation and innoperative advance mechanism...or even too much adavance. Ray
