is it possible to put dual carbs on a fuel injected engine? or do you have to change the heads?

Its a direct switch-over. There are a few differences in the heads. Generally the 1.7L FI head had better valve sizing, while the 2.0 could probably have used a little bigger valves going from FI to carbs. The 1.8 was about right as is. Just bolt it up. Ray

You will find the injected cam works well with carbs too, assuming its a 1700.

Ditto that Bobtail. The only real difference was in the timing of the valve opening points, which were spaced a little differently than the carbed cam. The lift and duration of the stock cam were the same. I can't remember for sure, but after a certain year...either 70 or 71...I think...they wen't to using all one cam...the injected timing version...as most were being built with injection at that point. It has a small amount of valve overlap and seems to generate a little better exhaust velocity than the carbed cam. Ray
