My son drives a 1984 Doge Dynasty. Yesterday it quit, there is some sort of problem in the area next to the left front tire. My boyfriend said he can shake the assembly behind the tire on the left side but not the right. What does that mean? It also makes a loud grinding sound when put in gear.

Margie, you are definitely in the wrong place. This forum is solely for discussing the Volkswagen 411 and 412 automobiles.

I don't know too much about K-cars (for that matter, I'm not even 100% positive that a `94 Dynasty is a "K-car") but it sounds like a serious and dangerous problem, possibly a suicidal ball-joint, that should be checked out immediately. Even the local tire store or K-mart auto department should be capable of checking it out for you....
