Post by Vgonman »

Well,
My "new" 74 412 has sat for 15 years and thus all the brake and clutch hydraulics are shot..............any sources for rebuild kits and or new units for the following:

Brake cylinders
brake pads/shoes
brake hoses
brake and clutch master cylinder
clutch slave cylinder

Thanks in advance!

Check here, I have also put wanted clasified adds on this site and have gotten good used parts. http://www.type4.org/spare

A cross ref for parts to other vdubs is here. http://www.hallvw.clara.net/ They dont have a cross for the master or slave setup from another vw, brakes or clutch.

I was thinking about converting my 412 to a standard transmision, (T1 berg five speed) with a sandrail hydralic peddle and cluch assembly. Maybe you could use just the peddle assembly and hydrolics for sandrail if you didnt need to keep it completly stock.

Send me some pics of your 412 I'll add them to my web site vw.madisonnet.com

You have a unique car I've been to 5 VW shows with mine one with over 500 cars and never seen another type 4 at one. Everyone says what the heck is that an old Volvo.

Anyway good Luck and have fun with the new ride.

Later Steve
