1952 Karmann Ghia?

SEBRING WINNING 1952 VW SPECIAL!

On 15 March 1952, at the first 12-Hour race at Sebring, Herbert Brundage of Miami (later to be a VW and Porsche dealer)
built and ran this car and finished 11th overall against far more powerful European racers, including the 1951 Targa
Florio winner.

The Karmann Ghia didn't exist in 1952, but Brundage's Special looks remarkably like the Ghias that would come.

Brundage Motors of Miami became Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, where I was fortunate enough to work during its
glory days when the RSR's, 934's, and 935's beat all and won all.

Here's the first and second parts of the Brumos history, both short. Of course to tell Brumo's story is to tell part
of my own. I hope you VW-Porsche racing guys will appreciate these.
