Kerosene smell

Post by Bonemaro »

I found out from family here that after my grandfather passed, they continued to drive his KG periodically to keep it moving. The last time my mom tried too start it, it wouldn't and she describes a kerosene smell.

Does this sound like the gas just went bad over the years?

Hi Bonemaro,

Yes, a kerosene smell is common of old gas, expecially if the Ghia has one of the leaky evaporative control cannisters.

And whatever squeaks they might have heard were not rusty seat springs, but mice.

That's great news. I bet there's nothing wrong with this little car.
