need some head work advice

Post by raul arrese »

gonna ask here cause i couldnt get an answer some where else , i picked up some heads from a buddy and they came with no valve guides installed , but he gave me a bag with .002 oversize guides , will these go in with no problems , figure i would heat the heads and freeze the guides ?? or is .002 too much ?

You need to measue what size the holes are right now.
Someone around here should know what the interference should be.

Valve guide fitments are normally a one shot deal. As said above you need to measure the bores in the head.
There is a valve guide fitting punch you can buy but if you have a good machine shop near you can get one made for probably the same if not less money.
