I bought a 71 Ghia vert that came with Procar seats. I make a seat raiser for the
seats but, it puts the seat too high......as a point of reference I'd like to know what
the stock seat ht is if someone would be so kind as to measure your seat ht.

I will try to remember when I get home tonight.
off hand, I would say that in a compressed state, butt in seat, lowest point of hiney is 6" or so off the floor.
Off the record, since we are both similar in age and this looks like it is not going to be a point getting resto but is a going to be a fun drive, why not make it comfortable for you rather than dealing with a Class 2 (or what ever they used back then) male (average) setup. Ya gotta get in, ya gotta get out and ya gotta see to the front, rear and sides. One of the reasons they now have height adjustments for the driver's seat .
My buggy came with comfortable seats that were so high that I could get a nose bleed in a dip in the road so I changed them... twice.
I agree.....I am just wanting a starting point. I'll then make it adjustable. I know I will want it higher than stock but, want a starting ht. It looks like the stock ht makes you sit too low.
I have the ProCar Ghia adapters that bolt to the OEM seat rails and two pairs of seats to fit. IMO both seats are too high when on the ProCar mounts. There is near zero headroom with a helmet on. As soon as I can find a lower option I'll probably put the Scat/ProCar stuff up for sale.
Should say, 4" compressed at the point where my legs fit.
Remember that the rails lower the seat as it goes rearward.
My seat is 2 notches from the back, to fit a 36" inseam, and the 4" compressed measurement is with 250lbs of lardass doing the compressing.
6'2" 250 and my head has 4-6" between it and the headliner.
I have Procar Drifter seats and Procar seat rails. Since I don't have factory seat rails since I replaced my pans, we had to modify the seat brackets. Brackets are bolted through the pan, and we basically brought seats down as close to floor as possible. Very happy with how they turned out. Brackets are bolted down using Grade 8 bolts. email at omarm007@yahoo.com if you would like pics.
