This has me puzzled (didn't take much) but I have been messing around with this for awhile. I took the Turbo off and I have not been able to get it to run decent since.
I have a 1915 big valve heads, 110 cam with a single Delloroto 45 180 airs, 170 mains and 55 idles fuel pressure at idle is 2psi. For once I have got it to idle nicely and runs smooth around 2500 but cuts out bad at 3500, pipe is coal black. After running it for a bit I heard one backfire then it started to pop and backfire just off of idle, that might be clogged jet. Could use you wizards out there's help. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with Dellortos but that sounds like a symptom of the powervalve. If that carb has one replace it.
