Just the flywheel left to remove, then the six main case nuts and I will have the case split.

Had some time today to finish up the rear trans/lower engine cage mount.
And got it painted.

The class the boys and I took last fall was very helpful. Still need practice with the out of position welds though.

Got the last two bars bent, fitted and welded to the engine cage/reat bumper.
Side shot.
Now I just need to finish up the receiver mount for the trailer hitch and the rear engine mount tabs. The tabs will have to wait until I get the engine back in.

The new to me case has now been machined, had the oil galley plugs removed and taped for threaded plugs, the galleys have been cleaned and it is now time to start putting things back together.

All clearances checked out good, crank and cam sitting in the new case getting ready to close.
Just a couple of small things to do first.

Oooh... Shiny metal!
. What kind of carb setup do you use on the Baja?
