5/1600 racing

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

5/1600 racing

Post by madmitch »

Running 3rd one of my fears came true when a broken rear shock mount 10 miles into lap 2 at the Midnight Special in Lucerne Valley put us out of the race.
Repairs underway as well as double shear mod. Only other major repair is pax door lower hinge about to fall off and will go thru trans as 3rd gear is noisy.
If you feel you are picking up speed you may be going downhill.

Bummer about the shock mount, but at least you were out there racing! That's more than most of us can say!

Good to see you getting back out there Mitch! Have you seen the pic on RDZ of the yellow truck looking to swallow you baja for a snack? I will have to see if I can find it again. Seen it late last night and meant to bookmark it but forgot.

Glad to hear you are out Racing!! And that the repair is minor.

Glad to see you out racing! Was Pistol "polite" (I assume he was driving) and just tap you?

I think I just passed him in that pic. Note that my radio antennae is leaning over farther.
