Has that carb got a choke on it? Sounds like mine did before I put more fuel in it on start up. Try putting your hand over the throat.

Have you checked the plugs after that last video ? Looks like you can't get it to rev. Whats your base jetting ? Try a lower fuel psi also. Try here for some good info----> http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic ... 3&t=134841

Sounds to me like it needs more fuel.

Can't you turn out your idle mixture screws a little to see if it runs better???
A draw through turbo setup needs more fuel at startup and idle due to the distance the mixture has to travel and going through the turbo.
Either bump up the idle jet size or give it more fuel with the mixture screws.

I haven't messed with a Holley in almost 38 years so I can't even remember how to adjust them.

You could also increase the accel squirt to give more fuel with throttle movement by changing the jet or increasing the throw.

I know so little about holley carbs. i checked all the sparks again tonight and they were all good. got the timing dead on.

i tried the 4 little idle set screws. the carb came with the turbo setup. theres a little brass tube on the side of the carb. is that a vac secondary? should something be over it?

ive put gas into it and everything but it wont rev up at all.

Can you see down the venturis and see the fuel spraying a nice even spray ? Have you pulled the intake to the turbo off to see the spray pattern there also ?

Here you go......

This one has the basics....read it all the way through before touching the carb.

More than likely that carb it not set up for a VW engine. It's probably jetted for a V-8 that is 4 times the size of your engine.
You will need to find out what it needs to run on your engine before you go much farther.
