shift forks & Matra jig

Post by SC3283 »

Hi guys....its been 30+ yrs since inside a type1 trans....i have forgotten

Matra 294A(big pinion brg) VW factory jig.....does the shift shaft need to be snug in the jig? I dont remember if there was a reducer bushing that was to fit into the machined hole of jig to position the shift shaft

thank you in advance

The shift rails don't vary in size, so I doubt there's any reducer sleeve for the kit. The bore on the jig is meant to be a bit sloppy, and making the fit tighter won't "improve" the adjustment setting.
