Boost Maps
What do your boost maps look like? Share images please. Tell your engine size, and how much peak boost you run.

Re: Boost Maps
You want duty cycle maps? Lots of variables involved there. I've had cam swaps make old boost duty maps WAY too sensitive causing extreme low throttle over boost conditions.volksbugly wrote:lol and there were not any aircooled duty cycle boost maps on there.
Every cam, turbo, header, head, waste gate spring, and intake design will screw with how boost responds to your duty table.

Re: Boost Maps
Well I was looking for how to tune one. I wasn't sure if going lower or higher on the duty cycle would give me more boost.

Depends on the valve and the solenoid driver design, and how you implemented it in plumbing..volksbugly wrote:Well I was looking for how to tune one. I wasn't sure if going lower or higher on the duty cycle would give me more boost.
Unfortunately, the only way to know for certain is to try it
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: Boost Maps
Start out at 40% and see what happens....
I have mine set at 90% to about 50% TPS and then I cut it down. 67% gives me 22 lbs boost. 60% gave me about 17 lbs.
I started out low since my external wastegate opens at 6 lbs.
If you have a lighter spring in your internal or external wastegate you can use it for safety.
It will depend on how quick your turbo makes boost and how much it can make.

Maybe I got the wrong one...
Somewhere out on the webz there's MS specific forums for stuff like this, I posted my maps there and it's help quite a few people. Haven't been there in a while, hence the confusion. I do recall there was a mix of people in there though, A/C and waterpumper alike so you might have to do some searching.

That one used to be cool. Just kinda died. Description sounds like the same one. Even the moderator hasn't logged on since October though.

Re: Boost Maps
I guess MS has sort of branched out to it's respective brand forums by now anyway, I remember in the beginning they were trying to maintain one corpus of knowledge under the MS banner but there seems to be enough people in the individual forums to render assistance. Used to be an 'MS Runs' forum, Maps forum, the regular MS assembly forum... Kinda redundant now huh?
