Idf gaskets

Post by ekacpuc »

It's prob somewhere here but I couldn't find it in a search.

How much boost does it take to start blowing gaskets on weber idfs? Are you guys making your own rubber gaskets? I'm aware the throttle shafts will leak a little and am okay with a small leak.

When do the intake manifold gaskets become a problem (both at heads and carb bases)? What do you do for those?

I found some solid floats for idfs.

I don't have carbs, but I do have plenums mounted on IDF manifolds. I haven't run gaskets at all for years. I run Loctite 518(I think) at the head, and Dirko at the IDF flanges. I don't have leaks even at 28psi.

I have CB Performance Injector intakes and use stock style Empi or CB DP intake gaskets at 22 lbs. with no leaks.
