924/944 or type 4 cv's ?

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

924/944 or type 4 cv's ?

Post by mlrailguy »

I've been running 924s on my sandrail and always carry a spare. Last weekend my buddy broke one so I gave him my spare. Trying to locate more but haven't had a whole lot of luck. Have read that type 4 is the same. What about the Dorman replacements? I have heard that the splines aren't the same, so you would have to buy a whole new setup, cause our VW/Porsche cv's won't fit.

Can find used 944 cv's on ebay and pelican parts. Know a few people who have used them with no problems.

Someone put these links up on the Aussie site the other day too.

No idea what they are like but might be worth trying.
