Hi everyone
My name is Ridwaan..
I recently acquired a kombi(as known in RSA), and discovered that the diff is chewed up.. she runs regardless of the diff factor, but i wanted to knpw if there is anyone whp could actually advise me on how to do this over myself instead of taking it to a gearbox mechanic?
The reason is because i love doing things myself & getting my hands dirty..

Delving into the transaxle is generally a job for a tranny rebuilder as there are a lot of specific clearances and alignments. Some special tools are needed too.

How was this diagnosed? Is this a swingaxle rear suspension with reduction gearboxes at the ends of the axle tubes, or an "IRS" one that has exposed drivelines with CV joints at each end?
Assuming that the ring & pinion gears are still serviceable, the gearbox portion of the transaxle will not need to come apart. The differential carrier assembly is the first thing removed and the last thing installed.
However, any time components in this section are replaced it can (and usually does) affect the ring gear "backlash" and the required preload on the differential carrier bearings - as Rob said, some specialized (and expensive) tools are needed to check & set these things...you also will usually need a collection of various-thickness shims to achieve the adjustments. It's really not a job for a novice to tackle.
You could perform the removal of the engine & transaxle yourself to save some money...that'll also keep the vehicle at your place rather than at some shop if it turns out that the damage is more extensive than anticipated.

Hello I'm a newbie. Hoping everyone gets answers including me lol.
So far I've tried 3 different cameras at smallest possible and I get message,
error file too large. No way something in the site is blocking my photo.

My pics are stored under pictures. When I click right on the pic I choose edit, then resize, and make em 800x600 before I load them into stf. Hope this helps. I am not computor savy.

Not image too large.file too large
800x600 jpg or .png under 125kB will load fine.
Any file over 125KB simply won't.
Your cameras may be trying to save a lossless jpg , or in RAW format.
Save it as a medium quality jpg, no worries.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
