New Off Road Builds 2016

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

That will take more than a few years

Ed

The "build" only took 10 months though!

Its best you ask your wife first.

Then by all means let us help spend your money

Seriously, start your own build thread and a mod will get a link from this thread set up. that is what this thread is actually for, to make it easier to find the builds. So have at it and post pictures we like pictures
It is not Mickey Moused.....It's Desert Engineered!

My first buggy build is underway! Any suggestions along the way would be great. So far I have sanded it down and started painting should be done with paint tomorrow, going with black and fire engine red! I'll update with pics throughout the project! Cans any one help me with uploading pictures? Says file is too large

I think I would wait putting color on until all the cutting and patching takes place.

It is a given fact that a build is never done but also any and all upgrades are only done up to the first time you use your buggy in anger. Up to then your build is in a constant state of flux and the "I shoulda's" updates start in. Your wallet then shrinks and add to that your wife's patience is getting shorter and shorter until the giant wedge happens and the back of your waist band is over your head (long live the skid mark!).

Maybe just prime it to keep the rust at bay... sand it off a bit if you have to weld something.

Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.

I agree with the primer Herb. Just remember that most primers are water soluble.

Look at getting photobucket to resize pics, keep them at no more then 800 pixels.. We are always happy to suggest and spend your money. Welcome to the Dirt pile.
