Fuel gauge
When I bought my 1974 Beetle none of the wires for the sending unit, vibrator or fuel gauge where hooked up. Where do what wires go?

Re: Fuel gauge
Something to keep in mind, the "vibrator" regulates the voltage by shunting some to ground when it rises above a certain level (the output resembles a square wave, but the gauge doesn't respond fast enough to wiggle in response so the needle remains steady).
If you apply voltage without a good ground path for the regulator, its output will rise to full system voltage - it only takes a few seconds of that to burn out the gauge. Always make sure that the regulator is mounted solidly to the speedo housing before applying power to it.
