Axle clips

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Do you use a clip on your axles?

I don't need no stinking clips, I like a sloppy one.

I was riding my KTM down that a couple of years ago with a little speed and meet a jeep right there, I ended up taking the far left in that video and kind of jumping off those rocks almost rubbing the bigger rocks on the left side with my handle bars. I think the jeep driver was more shook up by it than I was and I turned around and went back up by him again to warn a friend on a 1200 BMW coming down behind me. Good times.

I don't believe it is widened. See if I can find his thread.

That is a cool trail, we meet several bikes both ways on it.

Rick had a lot more air pressure in his tires on the Baja than David had in his buggy tires. Plus Rick had stiffer rear suspension than David. Both of which lead to bouncing off the rocks instead of climbing over them.

Nope, Rick's Baja is stock width Bus swingaxle Reduction. Lay-down as I recall.

Washers are found on stock Type 1 CV axles. They are not flat washers, they are wave washers of spring material. They keep the CV snug against the clip so they don't bang against the clip and beat the clip to death.
