ve buggy and polaris rzr

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Post by seabeebuggy »

I have crossed over to a new offroad toy. I bought a 2017 polaris RZR XP 4 turbo 1000. No my buggy is a 2006 turbo but does not move like this thing. any way. Just stopped by to say catch me if you can! Anyone in Norther NV want to go play! Leather We need to meet up somewhere. Make the gang come play out west.

UTV's are fast see a lot of people 5-95 driving them most have no respect for anything in their path whether a old trail or one they just made. Need to get your buggy fixed so you can enjoy the desert. Yeah we need to get the old gang together, make Herbie dust off his Baja maybe

agreed im not a utv fan just lets anybody go out and thats not always good as they arent familiar with how stuff works and general etiquette. Reminds me of scooters/little kids in the skatepark. Just unaware of their surroundings and in everybody's way causing more danger to others.

Travis you and Leather are correct, they drive them like they stole it. They have become way too much of a problem and with the fathers letting their (some of them fairly young too) kids drive them, often alone, it is pretty scary at times. It is one thing to steer them and to give them gas but it is another thing to be aware of everything around them and to know what to do in an emergency (but then some adults don't know either ) .

As far as where we ride, I don't think it is going to be much longer before they (ATVs) will be required to carry insurance like (class 2) buggies and rails do. It is recommended to have insurance and off-road insurance now but not mandatory... yet. They are supposed to have passed and carry a card saying they have passed the test (on line) allowing them to drive on the [Oregon in this case] dunes.

Well i have now used both and the rzr is more fun by far.
The buggy has it place too but that rzr goes anywhere and is fast and smooth.

Load it up with a cooler, 6 days of camping gear, extra fuel and see how it does in the desert for 1000 miles with 200miles between fuel stops. Oh yeah you said the buggy has its place LOL

I have a love-hate relationship with the SxS's but you are right they are pretty much on the money right out of the box. Just don't drive it like a dork please.

I ordered some parts to get my buggy out on the road again. the wife gets the sXs and I will take the buggy

Here are some photos of the trip i took this evening. Found some old Indian caves. Some areas I would not try to take my buggy in. Too may rocks and In nor sure but the trails may not be wide enough...

That road the rzr is on is very rocky and not something i would want to take my buggy on. but the desert behind it yahhh.

sure it is. I built it tough. I did death valley jeep trails with it. The engine is a high rpm and if the hills get steep my car needs lot of rpm to boost up hills. it is not a high Compression low rpm torque engine.

Awesome buggy. I'd probably daily drive that.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
