green aux heater knob, removal help..

Post by Derek May »

I'm busy tearing down the parts van, and have encountered difficulty getting the thermostat/timer unit (green knob near emergency flasher knob) out of the dashboard.

The other knobs, such has the fresh air blower, headlights and rear defrost were all threaded, and could be spun off, then I could remove the switch by spining off the aluminum retainer underneath.

The aux heater knob won't spin off with reasonable force, and I don't want to break it. Is there a 'special' way to do this?

thanks.

The knob pull straight off. There is the possibility that some person glued it on if one of the "prongs" wer broken off...but in general in just popps off. Ray

Dang! I just realized how bad by spelling was on that last post...hope you got the knob apart. If you break the knob, I have a few spares, I can drop one in an envelope. Ray

Hello there Ray, I have a Westy I'm trying to swap a BA6 heater into but it's missing the green knob. Do you still have any extras left? I've been trying to locate one here in SoCal but have been unsuccesful. Please let me know if you have one and how much $ you would want for it, thanks!
