Neat build, did you bush the bores for the fantastic plastic lifters and what kind kind of pistons/rings do those barrels require?
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

Not sure what you mean by Plastic lifters?....You lost me. The case is aluminum not magnesium. The entire pistons(JE), rings and head studs was purchased as a kit from LN Engineering.

They are called ceramic but it is sort of a plastic, spooky space aged stuff I also run them in a bare sand cast case.

Super nice car and build. I’m in st augustine, there are a few of us up here and quite a few in the Orlando area as well.
Hope you can make some of the stuff going on later this month. We will be coming down for the Turkey Rod Run later in the month for the Bellaire Plaza cruise/hangout on Saturday the 24th in Ormond Beach.

Any thoughts on how those heads work on the street? I've read they run a bit hot. A concern I had down here in Florida.

Well the heads does not get that hot to me as I have taken proper precautions. The heads have a heat dispersant on the outside and ceramic-coated chambers. I also run LN Engineering cylinders. The heads sees 250 degrees at idle. The most I have ever seen my heads get was near 350 degrees long durations on the dyno while being push real hard. I don't ever see myself pushing it that hard on the street without going to jail. I also run water injection at high boost and I have a dual set-trab oil cooler. I have never seen my oil temperature beyond 225F and that was on the dyno.ImageImageImage

Yeah I guess I read they run hotter than others, but they also are strong enough to take the heat. I'm sure most don't go to the lengths you do to keep things cool.

I would keep my eyes one your valve guides for movement after driving on the street with those heads. I have considered using the coatings on my heads also but decided against them because I have taken my 66 street bug off the road and decided to go back racing again. I hope we meet sometime at one of the races , 2 black 66 turbo bugs . I just built a new GTX3576R turbo for mine also . Mike McCarthy

Yes my partner John and I both do , would never use anything else after how well it has worked for us. To put it in perspective , before the Rev 6 I did some form of damage to my transmission every race. Since putting the REV6 in neither myself nor John have had any transmission failures. My 60 ft times are in the 1.30 - 1.40s and I never do a burnout, just stage and launch. It definitely was THE best investment I ever put in my car. Mike
