I was setting the timing on my 1973 Beetle and could not tighten the distributor clamp.
The threads on the bolt had stripped.
I did not feel like replacing the clamp at that time so, I opted for a quick fix.
I removed the nut on the end of the bolt and added a few washers.
It clamps just fine now.
I was looking for a replacement distributor clamp and I was considering one from WolfburgWest but, I ended up getting a Fast Fab distribuor clamp with timing marks on it.
