With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

Nobody said huge deck won't "work". But there are definitely gains in efficiency that come from good squish caused by well thought out chambers. All out power might be similar in both circumstances though.

One thing I’ve just thought is my 10mm head studs are straight into the case.... no case savers. Been alright so far though got about 5k miles on the engine

i think i've sourced a CB hideaway header in the UK so that should be good. i don't like the way there mild steel but at the end of the day i won't take this out in salty winter roads any more.... or i'll get it coated.

there really isn't that many other options... in the UK at least. and to buy the CB header new i the uk is £440 which is $553...... FML

anyway... hopefully sort that in the next few weeks and it should bolt my turbo on as apparently my turbo is very close to a T3 flange?

VWspeedshop has a stainless version of the CB turbo header, don´t they? I would never again buy mild steel, especially not for a turbo engine.

Cry once...

I’ve found a cb header for this mk1.... can sort a stainless one for future upgrades ;) or when I can find one I can get in the uk
Couple custom jobs available but it’s £1000 :(
Might make one...
