Brakes with Residual valve problem
I am trying to bleed the brakes but no dice, pressure built up but but then went away. Put brake bleeder bottle on end of residual valve which comes straight out of MC and fluid just goes back and forth in the line, feeds when brake pedal is pushed but goes back when peddle is released. Ideas?

Sounds like some air trapped in the lines, are you working with drum or disks?

Disks but I have disconnected all lines and just have bottle hooked up to MC at the end of the Residual valve.

Interesting, I had problems with my cb disks not wanting to fully bleed and I had to unbolt my calipers and rotate them up to get all the air out

Re: Brakes with Residual valve problem
So I think I got it. I took the (new) MC apart I don’t know if it is what did the trick but the cup on the seal was turned around (I thought) so I did that, cleaned it out (not that it needed it) and reinstalled it. It still took a bit to get the first hard pedal, now first pedal is hard. Feels harder then back so tomorrow I will disconnect the front brakes from pedal and (with wife’s help) will bleed the back again. Then I am sure I will have to play with the brake bias, good times.
