Yes its 26* no ping. Its a lot more lively with some timing added.
I thought it best to have the bulb in a position were my right eye goes the most which is the boost gauge, my left eye is on the road, or trying to.lol

1.3 bar. Not a lot really in comparison to others, but looking for a 2 bar tune without issues using dual carbs.
P.s The 26* would never work without the water, I tried to combat ping for dare I say it years, did lots of chamber work ,lower timing etc.

1.3 bar is still a lot of boost in my opinion! At 1.3 bar even my stock engine is scootin'!

It is a lot of boost, but I'm like most people on here, I'm addicted to tuning a specific type of engine , an air cooled one. For me with this engine, apart from the intercooler ,I've done almost everything possible to a sub 2 ltr type 4 engine to get good power out of it
Some will say fuel inject it, but I like tuning dellorto's ,I like the fact that a lot of folk say you cant put a lot of psi through dells with out fuel leaking under pressure, well I no you can, takes a lot of work sealing this n that area of the carbs but its doable. I also like the fact its running good on points and a blue coil too. No fancy ignition stuff. So big boost is the next challenge, other guys on here can get there ,and so can I, you too Buguy.
After the big boost is achieved, what's next. Is it over, It would have to be a CC increase and a load of on axle stands time, I don't think I wanna go that route as its took ages to get the bug to this stage.

I'm with you garrick. I work at a hot rod shop and we are doing more and more pro touring builds with modern FI engines. I figured it would be smart for me to learn this stuff. Otherwise I was perfectly happy with a coil and carbs too. I do have to say, I don't feel that I ever would have gotten the performance I have already with my FI setup, with the carb I had before. But that's just me and the setup I used to have. Also I started to build a big stroker, and now I'm second guessing it. I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting from this stock engine. At least for right now. Maybe once this gets more familiar, I will be ready for more cc's.

F.I is the future for power v dubs but...it seams too complicated to me. For me I'd need a bolt on Blow Through injection kit with a computer brain that works the fueling out itself with almost plug n play wiring. With carbs its a mechanical thing which I can work out quite well.

It is complicated. But it's making more sense everyday.

It is intimidating, but the more you read the easier it is. I am ok with electronics. I do better with mechanical things as well.

You could run just fuel with three sensors, or look at just pulling timing off a modified distributor.

The smoothness and tractability of the engines amaze me.
