Re: 2,4 ltr type 4 turbo 500hp goal
Engine is back in and I've decided to first test the N/A power again as I wanted to do a anti-reversion chamber idea for a really long time now and now is the chance in these 'stay-at-home' days..

Inspection for road legality is in two weeks time, dyno time will be in Germany at our 1200Challenge dyno-day on 2nd of May (if it goes through and all that).
Anybody want to guesstimate what N/A power will be?

I'll play. My guess is 230hp N/A

Wow! That would be crazy, right? I mean it has turbo (low compression) ratio, just under 9.0 iirc, but I like your input!

But didn't I see you were spinning it to 9000 rpm?!

Yes indeed, but max power wasn't made there. I think max power with the former 2,2 was around 7300 RPM, but that was single spark and another small issue.
This cam is a few degrees more duration however (and a hair less lift), but engine is bigger, so I expect no more hp gains after 7500 or so.

Nice! I'm sticking with that 230hp! Fingers crossed!

If your goal still is 400hp at 1 bar of boost then the engine will have to produce 200hp NA or you have a above average effecient turbo/intake/cam system.
My guess is 182.5hp NA
Looking forward to seeing the videos and the dyno graphs.

Hey Kalle,
The .5 had me smiling tbh!
Last 2,2 engine made 189hp at 7300, so I expect this 2,4 to do at least a little more then that wit twin spark operating.
At 1,0 bar last 2,2 did make 400, so yes, intake (intercooling) is very efficient.
Your estimate has been written down, will let you know!

189.5 then if the size has increased.... or 200. I take both.

I'm going with 191.25 hp at the wheels. That's giving your engine a fudge on efficiency just because I like you......
That will be 225 hp at the crank.
If you make more than that you should be very happy with your combo because it is above the curve of the standard engine.

A drive in my car when you’re over here
Without further mention I assume all hp’s are flywheel.
