Nice fabrication work! Lot of work too by the looks of it.
I want to convert my notch to FI as well, but though I prefer the neatness of an internal pump solution, I want to drive soon after the install, so I think I'll keep the pump out of the tank after all.

I feel like I should know this but the tank is almost ready and the car is far from ready.
To what is this vent connected? The car is a 67 type-3 so no fender flap filler.

Leak test. There's about a gallon of lawnmower gas in the tank. If there's no leak overnight I'll run the pump tomorrow.

Fail!
I tried to keep fuel from getting to the bolt threads with some epoxy under the retainer bolt heads. But fuel got between the retaining ring and the inside of the tank and went down the threads anyways.
And now I can't get the cap off.
Fine. Now I'm trying to seal the threads where they exit the cap, effectively making the cap permanent. Waste of money if it doesn't work.
Next time I won't need the second access hole.

wouldnt it be easier to have to top mounted in tank pump?
you can route the fuel lines straight back and down.
No critic as i beleive you put much more thought in it than me ..
An in Tank Pump solves a lot of efi problems , i think.

Maybe, but I don't trust that gasket to seal against the corrugated tank top. And I wanted a clean stock look topside anyways.
Most of the complications came from buying the Holley in-tank kit (1) and then coming up with a way to use it with both the hanger and the mat on the bottom of the tank.
The problem with the kit is that the mat and pump don't have fittings that would allow a hose between the two. So I had to deal with the dislocation of the pump from the hanger.
Next time (for my 67 KG) I will buy a Hydramat with the 3/8" fitting (2) with the hold-down magnet kit. I can plumb the mat to any suitable pump and use a generic hanger to locate the pump. There appear to be many hangers that should work on that flat bottom section and that can be ordered separately (3).

I get your point but this was just for a short demo.
In the car I'll be using FI rated hose and clamps from those barbs to the steel lines we put in the tunnel.

Max, I have never played with a type 3 before but one of the older tricks that car MFGs use was to vent the tank to a connection that near the top of the fuel in-let hard line; where you put gas into the vehicle. It has to be X- amount of inches below the cap so the tank can breathe (displace trapped air) when filling the tank.
As I remember either '49 or '50 Chevs had a bad venting problem (I think it was a 1 year problem) so you quickly learned that when filling the tank you stood off way to the side so if they were going to spit (the venting problem) the gas ejected would miss you; they often spit a lot of fuel also (I seem to remember that slowly filling the tank also worked but that took forever). They probably were the worse about this but I seem to remember that other vehicles also had similar problems but maybe not as bad as the Chev.

MaxMax,The vent leaves the rear top of the tank. There is a short piece of flexible hose (3" or so) that connects to a hard pipe that routes up the front side of the firewall, across to the passenger side of the frunk, runs forward under the seal flange, and then ends pointing downward in the spare tire well. From there, another short (12" or so) piece of flexible hose routes through an access hole in the rear vertical wall of the spare tire well and out to the underside of the car.I have a couple of pictures I can PM you if that would help

The vent loop is typically a small bore pipe/hose. 6mm or there abouts? From the photo that looks a lot bigger?
