I am considering buying a 1974 Thing with unknown mileage (marked “exempt” on the title). Should I be concerned about having trouble reselling later? Estimated at 150K.
FYI – It is a well-documented older total strip down restoration – down to bare metal paint job, new engine, new top and frame, gas tank, front end to beading and nuts and bolts.
Should I be concerned about buying it and having trouble reselling later?

There are two Things up for sale here. One is out of state and they are asking $24,700. The other one is local and they are asking 12,000: if that helps any.

IN MY STATE, IT IS MARKED: "BEYOND MECHANICAL LIMITS". JUST MEANS IT HAS TRIPPED, SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM WITH ANY KNOWLEDGEABLE PERSON..

Re: Considering Buying a 74 Thing - Mileage Exempt
What would you rather buy, a rusted out car with 40k original documented miles on it, or a rust free car with 150k miles on it?
When you're buying a really old car, the mileage is meaningless.
