Bump for update? All hopefully still well?
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Good morning - a couple twists and turns but moving forward still. Brothers said they would feel better about warrantying their work with new pistons and jugs so I OK'd that.

Should be fully back together end of next week.

Thanks again for touching base, hope everyone is doing well.

Cool...
Just insure the "old" pistons and jugs go home with you, as they may very well be original EMPI (Mahle made IIRC) birals, I suspect worth serious coin in good shape, even used.
I'm curious why they didn't want to use the second best jugs ever made for T4s... (Nickies being ideal)
What did you go with?

Hi folks - Brother’s got the engine back together but it has excessive oil pressure (like really high) so they are redoing the build.

Good on them for stopping and making right.
Some shops just woulda been "here you go.." and given it back to you like that so they can get paid.

I'd fully expect a motor like yours to have some kind of odd oiling trick a builder might not notice.
Many wouldn't touch a modified motor like that with a ten-foot-pole.
And this is why.. Who can guess what someone BITD might have done?

While I'm sure you're anxious to get this sweet beast of motor back again,
And not excited to spend more money,
Be patient and give them some space,
Because right here's the reason most places will turn away this type of work.
Speedier than a Fasting Bullet!

Thank you for the response, and I completely agree. They aren’t the fastest but they’ve been friendly, and cooperative, and most importantly focused on a good build. I think they know that I am working with them and being patient, which I’m sure helps.
