Building a 78x96 type 4 motor for a all out drag car 1/4 mile use.
we have the engine spec pretty much sorted but haveing problems sorting a cam for this.
aim is to have 400+bhp from this motor.
heads are 44x40 welded and worked heads with 911 style exhaust ports running 1.48 pauter rockers
i know asking 10 racers what works i will get 10 answers but any pointers on which way to go?
spoke to JPM but the cam he speced has more lift than we can get springs to control, ls650 wont give us enough pressure and you cant run k-motion springs in a type 4 head.
its going to be running a borg warner S300SX FMW and full efi.

For drag race application just copy what you would use N/A. Its that simple...
Something in the 86C range will do great, regular L/C unless you use high CR, then larger LC would be more safe wrt knock.
CB650 should be enough with this as more then 6500 will probably not yield more hp in such an engine.
Oh, I would use a smaller turbo with this engine capacity. A Borg 7670 with billet wheel will also do 550hp and spools 500RPM better, which will help 60ft hugely.
