Hey guys,
So I completely did my brakes recently including a completely new kit + drop spindles on the front (ISP). They have been howling like no other so I decided to pull my pads and see if anything was loose and to regressed the anti-squeel plates. When I pulled them off I found they are no wearing flat but instead sit just high enough to contact the chamfer on the rotor (pictures linked below since idk how to explain it well). Is this normal? I've never had any other car with disks have the pads sit/wear like this but I wanted to check here before I bug the people I bought the kit from about it.
Thanks on advance,
Esk
Brake pads - is this normal wear?

I've not seen or experienced that. I am running older CB Performance's disc brake kits both front and rear. The pads on mine contact a bit inside the edge of the rotor resulting in a ridge on the chamfered edge of the rotor as they wear. Possible your left/right calipers are flipped? Where is the bleeder - top or bottom?

It indicates that the holes in the spindle for the caliper are drilled in the wrong spot. Just another part made in China! Grind a bit of the pad off where it's not going to touch the rotor then put them back in.
While you have them out, grind a big chamfer on the leading edge of the pads. This is what stops the squealing.

I agree with Bruce2, I have just spent a while shimming my calipers to get the pads in the right place and 'adjusting' the size of the pad with the linisher. annoying.......
