Wideband Lambda on a type4 extractor

Post by David, Lule »

The LC-2 Lambda arrived.

I had a smallband unit before. But the instructions of the wideband lambda states that it should be mounted with the 1" bung. With the current nut in the exhaust, It is a little more exposed than with the attached 1" bung. Witch could reduce the lifetime of the unit.

Du you think that I have to change the mounting to the 1" piece or could I stay with the present?

An other thought. Is the placement in the collector enough? I am worried that it will read of the values of two cylinders and not the all four. But for all I know, it could be good enough anyway.

What do you think? New bung? new place for the new bung? Or leave it as it is?

I used the bung that came in the kit.

Cut off the old one and replaced it.

That should work fine, as long as you have no exhaust/air leaks.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
