I recently opened up a double side cover IRS Karmann Ghia gearbox, code AN. It had a 3.88 R&P as expected, but the pinion shaft was marked K741 !!!Casting Timmy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 6:14 am ... I know I've opened one 3.88 "k" that was a K in marking only and the tooth pattern was definitely a G. So there are some mis-marked ring and pinions out there as well.
Anyone else run across a mismarked gear set?
