I am currently researching the idea of 103mm p&c's. Will the DTM Oregon Performance shroud keep these cylinders cool enough? I live in San Jose, CA. So its not all that hot of a climate. Also this car will only be driven a few times a month. ( Only to eat an occasion V8 or so) Im either going to run a 78 crank or smaller. The engine is going to be in a 66 Bug, and I do plan on running a large cooler w/ fan and thermostat. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

103\'s & the DTM Shroud.
I'm going to run the DTM in a 103x80 motor. I've been advised by Joe ( DTM guy ) that - keeping the cr to a normal level ( 8.1) and running a "late" fan - the engine should cool sufficiently. Keeping a close eye on head temps is paramount here. If temps start to go up - there is a conversion to use a type4 fan in his shroud. remember - you can cool an aircooled engine too much. As stated by Joe "running at 375f to 385f a little rich makes the most HP"
