help!

Ok just got home with my beetle and, well, something aint right. I was driving around tonight and everything was just fine (just installed a new header with dual quiet pack and a new oil drain plate) Came to a stop sign stopped then next thing I know i lost all my power when I tried to start up again. Ever since it has been feeling like the engine is lugging but i can hear the engine screaming. In short my car lost all pickup. By the way I am running a 1641 with dual carbs. Please help me let me know what other information is needed.
